How to Charge More for Your Virtual Assistant Services

Are you wondering how to charge more for your virtual assistant services?

We all want to increase our income so we can live the life we’ve dreamed of. 

So how can you go about doing that in a way that fulfills you and allows you to follow your passion? 

Instead of doing services just to make more money, we want to feel aligned with the work we are doing. We want to enjoy it. Doing work that doesn’t fulfill us leads to frustration and burnout.

Every time we make a decision, we want to do it based on our instinct. We need to ask ourselves, “how do we feel about this? Does it excite us? Does it make us want to jump into it?” If you can say “YES” to these questions, that’s a good sign to follow. 

If you’re thinking about changing your services or niching down in some specialty, then listen to your gut, listen to that feeling. And if it feels good to you, you really can’t go wrong. 

Confidence is Key 

 Let’s start with the most important aspect which is being confident. You must be confident in your ability to deliver. You must be confident in the level of service that you’re providing. You must be confident that you are the best, you’re the go-to person, and you can help them with whatever they need.

 If you are lacking in confidence, that is something you need to work on. You have to find a way to increase that confidence. 

Increase Skill Level 

What could be some ways to do that? For me, it is increasing my skill level. 

Get into the system that you want to focus on and learn more about it. Courses and coaching are both great ways to boost your knowledge and skill level which in turn will increase your confidence. 

Getting to know other people in the business will also give you vital connections that can help you when you may be struggling with something. 

Daily Affirmations  

It may sound silly to some, but affirmations play a big role in self-confidence for me.  Say positive things to yourself over and over. 

For example:

  • “I am a great virtual assistant.”
  • “I have a lot of skill sets that other people do not.”
  • “I can charge higher prices because I’m worth it.”

 It takes time, but working on your confidence will help improve your ability to be able to charge more money for your services. 

Offer Higher-Level Services 

Another great way to be able to charge more for your services is to figure out which higher-level services you can offer. You might already be offering them, but how can you increase the value? How can you turn those services into a higher level package?

 If you’re doing admin services, for example, it’s hard to charge a lot of money for that because it is a lower-tier service. 

But, if you’re able to do higher level services such as Facebook Ads, Shopify setups, creating websites or doing funnels, you can charge a lot more money.

Providing services that are harder to do, require more skill, and provide more value to the client gives you the ability to charge more.

Cut Down on the Amount of Services You’re Providing

If you want to be seen as an expert who offers top notch services, you need to cut down on the amount of services you’re providing, especially if they are unrelated.

If you’re offering a bunch of different types of services, it will make it seem like you’re a newbie and you aren’t really an expert at all. We don’t want to give off that vibe!

Cut out those lower-level or unrelated services and focus on one specialty. 

It will take some internal digging to figure out which services you want to let go of and which ones you want to explore more and continue to build your skills with but that’s okay.

Take time to figure it out, then make it happen.

Build Your Brand 

 Let’s go to the next step which is building your brand. What does that mean? What is a brand? Well, when someone looks at your profile or your website, they are looking at your brand. 

Everything from your business combines together to make your brand identity that people see right away. This includes your graphics, your colors, your fonts, your posts, the words you say, and the overall feel.

Be Consistent 

Your brand needs to be consistent on all platforms. Use the color scheme from your website and apply it to your social media platforms and posts. Try to use the same colors and fonts every time you’re creating something new. Being consistent creates trust with your ideal clients.

Match Your Brand With Your Pricing 

Your brand also needs to match up with the prices you’re charging. If your profile and website look like a hot mess, why would you think a client would pay you big bucks? It often takes money to make money, and a brand is an excellent example of this. Spend time and effort to build your brand that will justify those higher prices. 

Show Up 

Being a virtual assistant, a big part of your brand is yourself. It’s your face. Show up each day online so that people can connect with you on a deeper level and get to know you. And showing up on video beats pictures every time. I highly recommend using Instagram stories to help you build authority and authentic relationships.

Have Awesome Customer Service 

 Most importantly, you need to have killer customer service. Every single client that you have needs to think they are your number one priority. 

People will pay more if they know they will get a nice experience, so keep that in mind.

I like to compare this to an all-inclusive resort versus your average hotel. People will pay the big bucks to have a nice experience where everything is taken care of.

Can you provide that?

Charging More Money for Your Services is Dependent on You. 

Can you boost your confidence level? Can you learn more higher-level skills? Are you able to remove services that just are not making enough money? Is your branding aligned with your prices? Are you giving your client an experience that they will pay more for? 

Remember, you can charge whatever prices you want because it is your business. But, there are definitely things you can do to increase your prices. Because, honestly, who doesn’t want to have more money in the bank? Take action right now and I promise in just a few months you’ll be seeing a big difference.
